Hello! I am looking for some guidance on building a performance that has a much higher capacity than I have experience with. We are preparing to have an outdoor event that will need a capacity of 20,000. The tickets will be free, but we are needing to make it a ticketed event in order to control capacity. Our concert hall only has 1500 seats, so this 20k number is much higher than what our system has ever managed. Do any of you have experience with building an even that large? Do you have advice on how to build the GA map to prevent crashing? Any other issues I should consider?I appreciate any help!
You will be fine We are a Zoo with Timed Admission, so our Daily GA Facility is 40,000. Plus, many, many of our Facilities are really big. Build it the same as you always do...just be thorough and detailed and careful and it should work as it normally does. One recommendation that I have, and I'm sure others echo, is to break up your House Maps into segments to avoid scrolling or having portions of it off the screen. I am also a fan of keeping the width as a multiple of 10 (for ease of adding/removing seats, etc.) I think you can only go 99 wide, anyway. I also believe somewhere in the documentation it says that one Facility should never be greater than 50,000. Here is a snapshot of our Daily Perf - we have Timed Zones:
Hope this eases your worry some. Good luck & happy to answer any other questions!-Mark
I can confirm the limit is 50K. Our daily timed admission facility is 50K. However, I do suggest you kill the seats (Hold Code) on your performance on the screens greater than what you need on the performance. When building a new facility, make sure you validate completeness or it will cause chaos when people start coming in and some tickets don't work. You'll most likely not suspect it was not validating that the facility was completed properly. The Help system does a pretty good job of explaining building a facility, but it is really easy to mess up if you haven't done it in a while or it is your first time.
