Lemur-C BOCA Printer Questions?

Hi,

My museum currently uses a BOCA Lemur-C. We have traditional thermal receipt paper installed in it that we have been using to print receipts as well as individual tickets when need be. My question is in regards to the tickets we are printing.

Now that we know how to use Tessitura better and can sell tickets to events in person way before the event actually happens, we want to be able to give patrons a hard copy ticket to bring back with them that we can scan. Currently our tickets are printed on receipt paper, which doesn't help. I know BOCA printers are also ticket printers and that they sell ticket paper. I just want to be sure that ticket paper will work in the specific type of BOCA printer we have bfore I go ahead and buy it.

Does anyone know if the Lemur-C will accept ticket paper or is it just for receipt paper?

  • Hi Chelsea - at first, I was confused b/c we also use Lemur-C, but the Ticket Printer version...I didn't know it could print on Receipt Paper until I read this post.  I've spent a lifetime with ticket printers, but we've always printed on Ticket Stock vs. Receipts. Now, I am no BOCA expert, but I am guessing that the stock is not interchangeable based on the screenshot below from their website. Also, Tickets have a black timing bar on the back so the printer knows where the ticket is during the printing process that I believe a receipt paper printer wouldn't have. The timing bar requires an "optical eye"  which I am guessing is also not installed in your printer.  Again, this is my speculation. It would probably be best to contact BOCA directly. I do have a contact that I've know for a long time that I would be happy to pass along if you get no where. Hope you find this somewhat helpful!
