The Nashville Symphony is looking to redesign our mobile tickets to be more akin to the way our PAH tickets used to look. Before we embark on this project, I’m wondering if other organizations have updated their mobile tickets (if you use them) to be more customized beyond the standard template in Tessitura?
We used Mobile Tickets via email for our 2023 Festival, with a few modifications from the base template.
Most importantly: do as the documentation says and create a copy of the base template, don't just edit the existing template!
Also note that you may want/need to create separate ones for seated and general admission events.
We added a few extra fields to include the following:
Here's how they look in Outlook on my PC:
When viewed on mobile, the QR code and seat/ticket info stack on top of each other and the image scales to the screen width.
We found that these worked quite well for our Festival this year and didn't hear of any big issues from front of house staff, other than a handful of people who printed them despite the warnings not to. In these cases, customers were directed to the Box Office and had tickets printed for them or handwritten vouchers provided to gain entry.
We also updated the dynamic text for order confirmation emails to include a link that said "Click here to access e-tickets for all your Adelaide Festival events", which then pointed towards the Upcoming Events page via the login page [https://(TNEW URL)/account/login?ReturnUrl=%2faccount%2fupcomingevents]. We included this link in our Before-Your-Show emails, and Google Analytics suggests that a decent number of people clicked through these links to access their tickets online.
We'd certainly like to experiment more with design and branding but wanted to try and keep as close to the built-in ticket for our first run.
Hope that helps - keen to see what anyone else has done, too!
