Set List

Hi all.

Is it just me, or does this set seem a little inaccessible?

  • Looks like it's just you... Ha!

Bic Runga, anyone?  Seriously though, I kind of know what you mean - there are songs here that very few people will know but I think that this would be the case no matter what we played, given the international theme.  But if we can knock these tunes out with conviction, confidence and a good strong backline then people will move and enjoy themselves so it doesn't matter.

Besides, James has done sterling work punctuating those less well known numbers with the more well-known songs so the set works well.

Maybe I'm biased though; I haven't picked up a pair of sticks since San Antonio and I'm really looking forward to it, no matter what 'it' is.

  • When I first saw the list I didn't recognize half of the songs, but when I heard them they all seemed pretty familiar. In fact, I think this is the first year I've played where I actually have heard all of the songs before (except Devil in the Kitchen, which is pretty cool anyway). Some of the songs only a few people will know, but I think those few will be very excited to hear them. And there are enough that  every single person will recognize. It'll be a fun set to play anyway, and I'm getting excited about it too.
