Set List

Guys,

I have been working hard on shortening the set list for DC. It has been an incrediblly difficult task but I am starting to get the 'shell' of things together. (I think)

Right now I am going to separate the set into 3 sections. I want to look at the first one now. This part would be the first 5 pieces after the opening (overture). The 'theme' for these pieces will be 'new beginnings' or 'the new kid' (and no I don't want to do 'New Kid in Town by the Eagles or anything by the New Kids on the Block).

Here are some I am thinking of for this section:

'My Generation' - the Who (UK)
'New Sensation' - INXS (AUS)
'Lets' Get It On' - Marvin Gaye (USA)
'Desire' - U2 (IRE)

Thoughts?

OK folks. I spent a great deal of time on this during the long evenings of this winter.... and like spring, the set list is starting to break ground.

There were tonnes and tonnes of songs I wanted to include but if we did, we would be playing a 24 hour marathon. I don't think any of us want that.  We definately can make some tweeks, but I am hoping this will be a solid foundation for our performance. If you want to propose a change let me know ASAP as we need to get writting the new lyrics and changing keys if necessary.

    Here we go:

intro: Mark Marston rocking 'National Anthems'

    1. Time Warp (Rocky Horror Picture Show)
    2. Sisters Are Doin It For Themselves (Eurythmics) - Tess-ers are doin' it
    3. Dreams (The Cranberries)
    4. Don't Get Me Wrong (The Pretenders)
    5. Who Are You? (The Who)

    6. Oh Oh Oh Vancouver (Inward Eye) - This will be about 30s and will be repeated later in the set

    7. Distan Sun (Crowded House)
    8. Devil In The Kitchen (Ashley McIssac) - fiddle instrumental
    9. Get On Your Boots (U2)
    10. 25 or 6 to 4 (Chicago)
    11. You Shook Me All Night Long (ACDC)

    12. Oh Oh Oh Vancouver (Inward Eye) - repeat

    13. Lose Yourself (Eminem)
    14. Alive (Pearl Jam)
    15. New Sensation (INXS)
    16. Wheels (Foo Fighters)
    17. Long May You Run (Neil Young)

    encore: TBD

Songs that I really would have liked to put in but got cut:

    Today (Smashing Pumpkins)
    Tom Sawyer (Rush)
Let's Get It On (Marvin Gaye)
    Blitzkrieg Bop (Ramones)
    Baracuda (Heart)
I've Got A Feeling (Black Eyed Peas)

Let me know what you think.

    James

  • What type of feel are you presenting?  Just trying to get a sense of the show’s energy….I think  I've Got A Feeling (Black Eyed Peas) is a great tune for the show!  Has great energy!!!
