We had a subscription refund to pay for a deceased patron and our AP team kicked it back asking if we can write a check to a "patron's name (deceased)". Then address it to the patron's daughter's address. We need to link to the original patron in TESS.
Anyone had experience with best practice on this one?
Many thanks! Karen Lightfoot
Hey Karen,
Not sure what your deceased patron procedure is but we use the Constituent DropDown > Change Constiruent Type > Estate to change the individual to an estate accont THat keeps everything in the same Constituent Object making refunds and operations easier. We would then be able to add the daughters address as alternate (or primary if executor of the estate etc) to forward the cheque. The salutation on the Estate would be able to hold any wording change for future comms, and avoid any mis communicating.
