Hi there, and welcome to the brand new “Payments and Transactions” Community Group!
This group was co-started by Laurie Scofield of the Intrepid Museum. Laurie has been a part of the Intrepid Museum for twelve years as the Director of Internal Audit. After growing increasingly frustrated by the fraudulent credit card charges and impossible chargeback fights, her organization began looking deeper into payment processes and alternatives. Laurie took the opportunity to host an Open Space discussion during TLCC 2021 in hopes to learn from others about their fraud experiences, share best practices, and find ways to continue to share information. From that discussion, this Payments and Transactions Community Group was created. Laurie has always been a big proponent of participating in user group communities to share ideas and information, and she believes in the power of numbers when working to initiate change!
Fueled by similar frustrations, this group is also co-founded by Colette Wink of the Georgia Aquarium. Colette has been with Georgia Aquarium for two years as the Project Manager for Accounting & Finance. After years of out-of-control chargebacks, Georgia Aquarium is taking the initiative to investigate different processors and fraud-fighting software, and is excited to be a part of this community to continue to learn and share best practices.
This group is an open community to all things Payments and Transactions. Some examples of topics we may cover are: payment processors, chargebacks, ticketing fraud, Tessitura Payments, and refunds. This is by no means an exhaustive list, just something to get the gears turning if you have any questions or suggestions.
Our goal for this group is to become a platform to connect with other Tessitura users to share ideas and frustrations, provide suggestions, inform others about what’s working/not working, and alert about new fraud schemes. This place is also a home to any and all questions related to Payments and Transactions. We will be meeting on a monthly basis with a standard meeting time of the third Thursday of the month at 12:00 EST to accommodate the greatest number of global members possible.
Please let Laurie or Colette know if you have any questions, and please feel free to share this group with anyone you feel might be interested!
Thank you, Laurie Scofield and Colette Wink Spriggs, for initiating and co-chairing this new community group!
Such a needed group. I am so appreciative of the efforts of Colette and Laurie for recognizing this need and diligently nourishing this group!
