I am so pleased to be joining Vee Butler as Co-Chair of the Managing Volunteers & Interns Community Group and I look forward to getting to know all of you!
We're planning for our next group meeting on Thursday, September 21 and we're looking for your input as we put together our agenda. Please share any topics or issues you'd like the group to discuss by Monday, September 19.

Hi there! I'm really looking forward to the meeting, and thank you to our co-chairs for organizing. I'm currently in the process of building our intern activity calendar for '23, and something we heard in a survey of this past summer's interns was that they would have liked more networking opportunities. Networking can be an added perk of volunteer programs as well, so I was curious if this group has any success stories of how they helped their interns/volunteers build their professional networks while serving their organizations.

Great question! Although not an intern program we've just began a student volunteering program that incorporates the students having the opportunity to attend additional informational and club meetings. We are asking members of various departments within our organization to discuss their journey to where they are in their career. We've also reached out to our partner organizations and are having representatives come and share their insights as well. Along with the information they receive, it's a great opportunity for them to network with outside organizations in our same field along with internal stakeholders.
I'm very excited to hear what others in our group might be able to share!
