We have been using Volgistics to manage our volunteers but are not sure if it is the right software for us anymore. We have tried to use Resource Scheduling, or setting up our opportunities as tickets. Neither are giving us quite what we want.
We are looking for a system with any and all of these:
1. Track irregular and seasonal hours.
2. Track individuals and groups of any size
3. Track and report hours served by volunteer, date-range, event, or location
4. Ability to communicate with volunteers pre, during, and post event
5. Triggered or scheduled email reminders to volunteers
6. User-friendly and easily accessible for paid staff and volunteers
For those of you who use a third party software
1. What do you use?
2. How much do you pay per year?
3. Does it do everything you need?
4. What does it not do?/What do you need to do manually outside of it?
5. How user friendly is it?
6. How would you rate the customer service, when there is an issue?
Hi Marie! We have made our custom tab our friend and it allows us a lot of flexibility. Does your organization have an IT department that works well with the custom page? By using Tess we can do 1, 2 (not sure about any group size? I would need clarity on what you are needing for that) 3, 4 (I would need more info on "communicating during and event" 5, 6 (our paid staff doesn't use it, but it could have been adjusted to) I hope this helps.
I've been looking for something like what you're talking about since I got back from TLCC and saw the presentation on volunteers. I've been waiting on a quote from Tessitura consulting since then. I'd love to keep it inside Tessitura.
