Gift Entry with Future to Current Receivables

My predecessor put in a pledge back in 2021 for this fiscal year and marked it for future receivables. We got the money in today, and I'm not sure what the procedure is to ensure the funds are marked current. I took a look at the posting report from 2021 and it looks like despite marking the pledge for future receivables the pledge went into the same GL as pledges that were current.

The v15 help system says something about opening a future to current batch and changing the status of the receivable that way. I've been toying around with the pledge in the test environment and it seemed like I could enter the payment as I normally would and the status would change to current automatically.

Is there a right v. wrong way to do this? Does it make a difference which route I take?

I appreciate any guidance y'all can give.

    Hi Renée,

This is Steve with Tessitura Support, I'll be glad to help here. It looks like you're spot on with the process detailed in the help system: Using Future to Current and Restricted to Non-Restricted Batches. Though, since you mention there might be an issue with the GL currently attached to the pledge, it's possible you might not see that future receivable generate in step 5 of process. I would suggest going through that process in your Test system, and please do let us know how it goes or if you run into any issues or have questions!

    Best,
