Identifying first-time donors in a list

Hi! My org's development committee is meeting in a couple of weeks to help write thank you notes as we wrap up our fiscal year. Our team wants to identify first-time donors to our current fiscal year over $500 for the board to write notes to. I'm unsure what criteria to use in a list to generate the results I'm looking for. Any suggestions? Thanks!

    Hi Kaitlin,

    So I know we have two criteria options that would work for this, though they're both custom made for us. One is Contribution Earliest Fiscal Year and the other is First Gift Date. If it's helpful, I've included screenshots of the query below.

    I know we also have an output set option that allows us to pull a constituent's first gift information (date, amount, fund, etc.) so if you've got that available you could pull a complete list of everyone who has given this FY and use that in the output to delete out anyone who doesn't qualify.

    Here are the queries:
