Insight TUG Session, 24th Jan 2019, The Old Vic

Dear Data and Insight Colleagues,

Just to confirm that the next Tessitura Insight (TUG) meeting will take place at the Old Vic on Thursday 24th January 12:30-4pm with networking afterwards. Please confirm your attendance to one of us as spaces may be limited and last time the NT luckily managed to find to a bigger room as we hit capacity.

This meeting is opened up to anyone working in data or insight within arts or cultural organisations, even if they do not use Tessitura as their box office / CRM system so please feel free to pass on to other contacts who work in this field.

We would really like your input into the agenda. We have one presentation from invited guest Dr Pippa Bailey from Ipsos MORI about the project they have conducted with the RSC (me!) measuring heart rate during Titus Andronicus, Shakespeare’s goriest play, in different formats (live at the theatre, at the cinema and a 360 VR video). Dr Bailey will only be attending to present and not for the rest of the meeting.

Other than that the agenda is up to you.

As well as confirming your attendance, please could you email us with…

  • Topics you’d like to discuss (these may be used for some Open Space type discussions)
  • Anything you’d like to present, big or small and how long you’d like to present it
  • Anything you’d like to find or invite someone else internal or external to present on and who this is (if you have someone in mind)

From September’s meeting the topic of segmentation was suggested for discussion, so it would be useful for people to come prepared to talk about what, if any, segmentation they do.

To remind you, we have covered these topics to date:

June 18

  • Tessitura Analytics Demonstration – Paul Woods, Tessitura Network
  • Dynamic Pricing –Thanos Gkofas, National Theatre
  • Surveying –Thanos Gkofas, National Theatre
  • Qualitative  Research – Becky Loftus, RSC
  • KPIs & Reporting – Richard Surgay, Nottingham Playhouse

September 18

  • Non-RMA ways to Dynamic Price – Becky Loftus, Royal Shakespeare Company and Ed Borlase, Theatre Royal Plymouth
  • Measuring social grade and social mobility – Becky Loftus, Royal Shakespeare Company
  • Quality metrics – Becky Loftus, Royal Shakespeare Company
  • KPI, metrics and setting targets - Rich Surgay & Joanna Sigsworth, Nottingham Playhouse
  • Calculating return on investment – Rich Surgay & Joanna Sigsworth, Nottingham Playhouse
  • TLCC round up & TEC sessions summary – Fiona Joseph, The Old Vic

I hope to see you, or your colleagues, there.

Many thanks,

Becky, Fi, Rich and Thanos (Insight TUG Committee)
