Follow up to v16.0 questions re: Interests

Hello -

I wanted to do a quick follow up to a question that was raised at the meeting today re: v16.0 and Interests. Interests are *not* going away in V16, TNEW will continue to use them. We are, as I said adding the ability to add and use Contact Permissions as a feature in the standard transaction path, instead of a plug in as it is now, and we think most people should start looking at using contact permissions as we're seeing a trend in regulation moving towards that, and not just for EU and AP regions, but also NA.

I think what people might have been remembering and thinking of, was the contact restrictions on the General Tab which are going away, and we're recommending you replace with Contact Permissions. More can be read about that in the What's New in v16.0 document under the General Tab Changes section.

It was nice seeing faces and talking to everyone today!

Best,

Heather

Edited to fix my constant mix-up of Contact Point Purposes and Contact Permissions.

  • A thought on the pre-show email etc topic:

They drop JPG samples of real campaigns here, and there's a Gallery for automated ones of different types.

Skimming very quickly right now, I doubt this reveals much useful in terms of where the frustrations are for those who have to get them running, but it's a nice resource. Perhaps there's room for a second view on some of them that shows all the conditional and data merge code--I'll see if Kirk is receptive to the idea and supply him with our examples to start. (I've presented on this in the past at TLCC, but a core construct of how I've built out our automations over the years has been to set us up with something that is effectively hands off once we touch up each season. I touch specific campaigns a whole lot less now, but it's still essential to me that we have something that aligns with our staffing capacity. We're currently undermined a bit by COVID protocols and rate spikes disrupting the 'let it run' routine, but generally it's a huge win.)
