Welcome from Your Education & Audience Development Community Co-Chairs!

Hi there, everyone!

My name is Katherine Tolbert, and I’m thrilled to be kicking off this awesome new Tessitura Community Group with an introduction to the friendly faces serving as the group’s co-chairs! The three of us are very excited to be co-chairing together, and we’re looking forward to building a space that allows education, community engagement, and audience development professionals to share their questions, success stories, and nerdy industry musings. We’re also looking forward to planning virtual meetups that will help keep all of us connected outside of TLCC. I’ll briefly introduce myself first, then you’ll get to meet Mike and Megan.

I currently serve as Community Engagement Manager for Starlight Theatre in Kansas City, Missouri. After originally learning Tessitura as Starlight’s Subscription Sales Coordinator and “cutting my teeth” in the box office, I now utilize Tessitura to administrate our numerous education and engagement programs. Prior to my current role, I was an elementary art teacher and professional musician while I obtained my graduate degree in public administration and nonprofit management. Education and community-building are my biggest professional passions, and I’m so excited to connect with others across the world who have followed a similar path.

Now, meet Mike!:

Hi! I’m Mike Krauss and I serve as the Director of Academy Operations at Cincinnati Ballet. My team is responsible for overseeing the operational and administrative components for Cincinnati Ballet Academy and Education programs and events, with a large component being the use of Tessitura. I have been working in arts education and with Tessitura for several years and am very excited to be co-chairing this new group with Katie and Megan. I hope this group will provide an engaging space where Education and Audience Development Tessitura users can connect and share!

And meet Megan!:

Hi! My name is Megan Trujillo. I am the Education Program Specialist at the Mystic Aquarium in Mystic, Connecticut, USA. I currently handle the education departments Tessitura needs including, building all our programs, events, promotions, analytics, and reports. I also handle all our reservations and process payments for the department. I am really excited to be a co-chair alongside Mike and Katie. I cannot wait to see what this community group will become and to get a chance to collaborate with other Education and Audience Development Tessitura users!

Thanks for getting to know the co-chairs!

As we’ve all said, we’re so excited to help grow this new group and serve all of you. We’ll be sharing a survey soon that will help us get to know you better and to understand what topics you’d most like to explore as a member of this community. For now, we hope you’ll take some time to introduce yourself in the comments and let your colleagues know that this group is officially up and running.

Thanks, everyone!
