During a recent brainstorming session, we thought about how great it would be if TNew could allow Contact Purposes so that patrons could have the ability to change/update them within their profiles. We've seen this ability with Adage built websites.
TNEW does some: at the very least you can set Contact Point Purposes for Mobile Phones. There are some complexities, though: which purposes? And which contact points? Let's say you set a bunch of contact points on an email address, then later you go and change your login (and by default email). Does the user expect the purposes to now be transferred, or do they want different purposes? What should happen to the purposes on the now invisible (to the user) email address?
The user experience on adage sites that use purposes is that the user logs in, navigates to the my account section, and then sees all of the emails associated with their account. They can then set the specific purposes they want on each email address (EX: send my donation receipts to my work email but your marketing emails to my yahoo account I never check).
