Hi All,
It's been years since we've had a raise the paddle component to a fundraising event here at SCT. I can't recall how it was managed in the past. Looking for your experience...how did you handle the process of assigning a bid card, gathering a credit card, charging that card later? We're taking our event registrations through donate2 and I believe we will be moving the guest information over from CSIs into Elevated Event. Still, I don't think we'll be able to charge those cards that were charged at registration later at the event, since donate2 goes through Stripe and we are soon to transition to TMS (prior to the event date).
Thanks for sharing!

Hi Kanani! We just did a paddle auction in March and we also used donate2 for the event registration, but we used BetterUnite (I think) to do the auction portion. Then our Dev data entry person entered them all manually into Tessitura (although if you're good with imports you are able to import the contributions).
Thanks for the tip. Any idea how much BetterUnite costs? It looks like it is more robust than we need as we aren't doing a full auction, just a live ask for money. I'm kind of wondering if going old school with a spreadsheet is the right answer.
We have done that at past events using Donate2. However, this time they want to do a live raise the paddle style ask with calling out the bid numbers. They think this will generate more money than the QR code method, which may be true since the invite list is skewing older.
