Hello All, In the battle of "Which email service named after an animal is better?", I turn to you all for your input. With WordFly down, we opened a premium account through MailChimp and our Marketing team is in love. My only foreseeable issue is campaign/appeal tracking. Other than that, I cannot think of a reason we could not switch. Have any of you ventured into the EmailZoo? Any thoughts or opinions? Thanks in advance!
We've been working with Mailchimp for a few months, and the road's been rocky, but I feel we're improving. We're a GA-based org, so Mailchimp not having any attendance data in it is a bit clunky. The 'Next Show' column is good, but we had some issues and had to work those out with their support. The trick is being precise with what Mailchimp can use (tags, campaigns, open rates, etc), and being mindful of what it can't use (attendance, lifetime giving, and so forth). It's also important to be careful with how many accounts you import, and when during the day- make sure any bulk imports happen outside of peak business hours- we had two instances of slow down where bulk imports drastically slowed our Tessitura functionality during open hours.
Overall I think it's a very powerful platform, but we have had our issues with it. Having someone who speaks both languages (Mailchimp and Tessitura) is key.
