Troubleshooting pricing rules-choose your own package

Hi All,

I've submitted this as a help ticket, but need a quick fix so seeing if I get a faster response here.

I am attempting to set up a product volume discount to achieve a "choose-your-own" package for our 22-23 season.  We have adult and child prices, so I set up separate pricing rules for adult and child packages.  I just tested my pricing rules and the adult pricing rule fired but the child pricing rule did not.  Thanks for any help you can offer.

  • Pricing rules can only be applied once per product so I think you are running into that. Here is an old thread with some more detail: https://community.tessituranetwork.com/tessitura_software_forums/f/tessitura_ticketing-0/18972/multiple-pricing-rules-in-an-order

    This part in particular:

And to clarify the current limitation you are encountering about multiple rules…only one rule can be applied per product in an order (technically it’s not per line item, as the sub line items are grouped by product across all line items in an order when evaluated for pricing. SLIs that did not qualify for a rule but are for the same product as SLIs that did qualify for the rule are marked with a Q and are not considered by lower ranked rules.  So in Emily’s example, only one rule can be applied to Exhibit A SLIs in an order, the Adult rule or the Child rule, and which one is applied depends on which one is ranked higher in the rule set.

I believe v16 will remove this hurdle but in the meantime you can use price type mapping to have a single rule take care of both of these. You can find more on this here:

New Price Type – The price type to which all affected SLIs will be changed when the rule is applied. The (Map Price Types) option in the dropdown allows you to map different qualifying price types to different resulting price types, such as changing Adult and Child price types to Member Adult and Member Child. Price type mapping is set in the Criteria section for the rule.

  • Thanks so much Zach!  That did the trick.  I appreciate you taking the time to respond.
