Hello Everyone,
Forgive me if this is not the place for this post.
Are there any Tessitura vets that offer one-on-one training?
I know Tessitura offers various training packages, but the one off courses are not in depth enough, and I am not sure the "Ask the Expert" option is right for this situation. I am essentially looking for someone to train me as if I were going to take over their position and needed to execute Tessitura, TNEW, and SQL properly. A little backstory: When I accepted this position, my predecessor basically said my responsibilities were only to create lists for the depts, edit dashboards and create performances. TNEW has been handled another position, and I don't believe anyone from my position within the last 4 years had any SQL knowledge. This obviously not being the case, I have been teaching myself as much as I can over the last four months, but I feel I need another resource. I explore the Help System (recently started reading it as if it were training materials), I've joined a few of these groups, and I've made some good progress. But I would also jump at the chance to work with someone to learn as much as possible. If anyone has any advice, or willingness to instruct, please let me know!
I'm also a huge user of Google and Stack exchange etc BUT its worth saying that there is gold in them thar forums! There are plenty of webinars and examples on the Tessitura Network and community forums that will save your bacon.
Re TNEW the place that I learnt from best is the site map. However when it comes to specialised things like using a custom stored procedure to save data to a table then asking the forums/slack/support is a good way to go.
There are also webinars outside of the training like
Type SQL training into the search. and you'll also get loads of these presentations Power Point files.
I learnt SQL/SSRS/TNEW etc in this job in the last few years. The secret was not going alone and learning to say "wait, back up that went over my head" as much as you need.
Also Tessitura offer other specialised training as well. When I needed to learn HTML templates and was lost I asked consulting and the incredible team offered us training and resources at a reasonable price per hour - especially considering how much we have gotten out of it and how much time they spent on putting it together.
