December 17th, 2020 Meeting Takeaway

Hello friends!

We had a cozier group for our Consortium Leadership Community meeting today, so we did not use the functionality of Lean Coffee Table to conduct the meeting and generate a takeaway PDF. However, I would like to share the three topics I'd put on the board for our group to discuss, either here in the forum (if you're comfortable doing so) or in our Consortium Leadership Community Slack channel (let me know if you need information about how to access our Slack).

Here are those topics, with my answers as a conversation-starter:

  1. Share one success story from 2020.

I think our big success story from 2020 was the resiliency of our consortium staff. We were able to quickly react once COVID restrictions hit to learn new functionality and setup regarding features like timed admissions. I couldn't be prouder of how quickly we were able to make these features available to our organizations.

  2. Share one lesson learned for the future from 2020.

One big lesson learned for the future is that, without the ability to go on-site with our member organizations, there was a greater opportunity to fall out of the loop, even with remote/virtual meetings offered in the meantime. This even impacted some things that feel basic for what we do, like knowing when users leave an organization and a replacement has been hired and needs to be granted Tessitura/RAMP credentials. In the future, we'll have to ensure that we have processes in place to be better informed about the needs of our members, whether we can see them face-to-face or not.

  3. Share one priority plan/project for 2021.

Coming off my answer about our lesson learned for the future, one of my priority projects for 2021 is the establishment of an "Empowered Users" committee (full credit and kudos to for the name) of at least one user (though preferably two) from each of our member organizations which will meet monthly. The hope is that such a committee will allow us to stay more closely connected to our member organizations (even if only virtually to begin the year) and work through the multiple larger projects on the horizon such as our RAMP migration to Amazon Web Services, the establishment of Contact Point Purposes and Contact Permissions, and our participation in the Tessitura v16 beta.

Thank you to for hosting us for today's call, and and the rest of the Tessitura Network Community team for their assistance throughout 2020.

I hope that you all have a wonderful holiday season, and I look forward to continuing our meetings for this community in 2021.

Thank you,

Brian
