So I am trying to do a School group forecast on a dashboard (thanks to support I finally got the forecast to actually run). However, the forecast itself is being really wonky and I don't know why.
Part of the problem is I am asking it to give me 90 days out (I want all of April through June). But what I mean by 90 days is Calendar date, what the forecast is giving me is 90 days as Performance Dates and is basing it on how frequently these particular performances are (which is only Wednesday through Friday). So this forecast is showing me all the way out to September which is what I don't want.
Is there a way to fix that so that the forecast will show calendar year regardless of performances, or am I stuck with it because that what Analytics/Sisense can do?
Hi Chelsea,
Can you send a screenshot or two of your setup? I'll try to replicate in my environment and see if I'm getting the same thing and if I can figure out a fix.
And I have the exact same widget set up for my other widget on this dashboard that looks at the matching Studios to these tours.
I have it filtered by Price Type on the Dashboard Level and have included every paid tour/studio price type we have.
Can you hover over the days in date in your x-axis and tell me what the variable is there? Are you using performance date or order date?
We use Performance Date for everything we do here.
Try this out. I filtered to only performances in the next 90 days in the widget filter on the right. My X-axis is order date, as that will give you the forecast based on calendar date that I think you are looking for. I used paid/reserved value for the y-axis because our business practice is we don't take payment right when the order is received for school groups.
Nope, that broke it! Just had a big NO RESULTS screen.
Do you have performances in the next 90 days? Built in Tess, I mean.
It'll let me reply here, but not under the other comment.
No, we do not have 90 Days of Performances built. We only build them when a school calls us to book (each one is done custom based on what day/time the school wants to come). We only have until the end of May, but many of those are just holds with no Orders attached to them.
Okay, I think I'm misunderstanding what you're trying to do. Could you step back and explain what you are trying to forecast and what you want to base that forecast on?
So to explain further:
We are working on budgets currently for next fiscal year, and we need projections to finish off this fiscal year. My Education Director wants to know the potential income for school groups for the rest of the fiscal year (to June 30th) based on income up to this point (all of last FY plus this FY up to today).
