Huge thanks to Chris for an excellent follow-along presentation yesterday. So many eye-opening moments.
However, my analytics tripped me up right at the start of the first exercise of adding a widget level filter (Campaign) against the dashboard that had Campaign as a dashboard level filter.
When I click OK on the widget level filter, I get an error with the message 'An item with the same key has already been added.' and a big red warning diamond. Did anyone else get this? Any thoughts on what I've done wrong?
Everything else in the training session worked just fine.
many thanks
Alison
My understanding is that you can only use any given field as a filter one time in a dashboard, whether you are filtering on the dashboard as a whole, a widget in the dashboard, or on a break by field. I think if you turn off the Campaign filter for the dashboard on the specific widget you might be able to add it as a widget filter, but you can't do "tiered" filtering, which is a shame.
Hi Alison,I got the same error.
Thanks,Thanos
I also got that error. Thanks for posting it!
that would indeed be cool to have a "respect dashboard filters" toggle (or something) inside the widget filter menu.
Hi Gawain - it seems reasonable that you can't add it twice, but I was following along with Chris's exact instructions. I've been back and tried again today, with the same result.
He was demonstrating that the widget filter would supersede the dashboard filter if the values selected were different. He had a filter on the dashboard with a selection, then added that same filter to the widget with a different selection and the widget followed the widget filter instead.
Yeah, but Chris is magic.
Also, in my experience there wasn't an error, so I don't think it's necessarily connected to your issue. What version of Tessitura are you on?
Hi Alison,
This is the error that led me to repost the dashboards to the event page. Can you confirm that you were using the more recent ZIP of dashboards and if not, would you please pull those down and see if importing those result in the same issue?

Hi Chris - thanks so much for coming back to me on this.Yes, I had uploaded the revised set of dashboards (using overwrite, and also then by deleting and re-uploading). I've just tried it again using your link above and I get the same error. But I've also recreated the dashboard/widget manually, and it works as expected! A puzzle, but I'm happy to move on!!
