Unsold Seats Showing Deactivated Zones

We have a multi-day, timed ticket event that sells out every year. We are currently at a point where we have pretty limited availability. Our marketing team wants us to add a widget to our dashboard to show how many available seats we have on each day at each time.

Overall I have this working, but it is showing "available" seats to zones that are deactivated on the performance. Our ticketing team uses a standard template for this build and deactivates the zones as needed for each day. Each day has slightly different hours, so I can't just filter out certain times. Is there a way to suppress inactive zones in Analytics that I am missing?

Thank you!

  • Hi Amber,

This is a bit of an unusual use case. Zones are active/inactive at the price-type level. It's a method of controlling which prices are available in what zones. It sounds like what you're describing is the zone is inactive for all price types, preventing it from being sold at all? From a reporting perspective, that information isn't tied directly to any given unsold seat - since unsold seats don't have a price type. If the seats in the seatmap are available (that is: not reserved, sold, held - including blockout holds), then that seat is in inventory. If you're using a timed-entry zone map, with limited capacity per zone but more inventory in those zones than this event allows, the standard way to limit that capacity would be with a blockout hold.

    I hope that helps.

  • Thank you! I thought it might not be possible with the way it is set up. We will know for next time!
