Showing income lost to discount as percentage of full price

hi folks,

I'm building a widget to track how much we're discounting certain price types.  We don't use out of the box Tessitura package functionality because our venue sell our packages, but I can identify package tickets based on price type.

I've built the following 2 widgets, but ideally in the first widget, would like to show the red columns (value of discount) as a percentage of the orange column (full base price)

I wondered if I can somehow alter this formula for the red discount columns to a positive value (maybe by multiplying by the power of -1   ??This is testing my recollection of maths classes!!), and then put the two values into a stacked 100 column chart, but can't work out what the formula would need to change to:

Can anyone help, or have you got similar charts in any of your organisations you could share with me?  Or is there a better chart format I could be using?

Thanks in advance, as ever, for any pointers!

Best wishes

Melanie

  • Thanks for flagging it up again Gill.  I had another crack at it and managed to use this formula, to get the following graph out showing that since the pandemic we have been giving away a larger packages discount to our packages customers overall - bit of trial and error, as I have maths but not coding training!

[Total Variance to Order Date Base Value]/-sum([Total Ticket Paid Amount]-[Total Variance to Ticket Home Value])
