Hoping all you Analytics folks will have an easy answer for this...
My finance team wants a cash flow dashboard that includes a 3 year average of cash received. I'm in the finance cube and I've got a pivot table started but my three-year average isn't quite working out. I know it's not showing accurate info for each month but I can't figure out why. I thought to use debit amount because that's when money goes into a GL so I have:
Any thoughts? Or has anyone accomplished this with success? Or am I WAY off base in my thinking? HELP!
Hi Madeline,
I suggest trying to limit this to transactions with payment methods (filter on Payment Method <> (none)), and to using the transaction amount instead of the debit amount. See if that gets you closer.
Hi Chris - If I use that filter then it won't show me what's going into a specific fund GL, right? Because part of the transaction that is tied to a payment method would go to that payment method's GL. I tried filtering by that and I now have no results so I'm assuming that's why.
Hi Madeline, I've been following along and when I add in GLs I am gettting results. Here's a few screenshots of what I've done. Hope it helps.
