Is there anyone interested in a Python library to support Data Science within the TESSITURA community?
Micah Walter who worked at the Cooper Hewitt and has worked with others in the community created a very basic tessitura Python library back in March 2019 that I've adopted. However, it is in no way feature complete. And needs some development. No work seems to have been done since July 2019. Given that Micah may or may not currently be active in the community I'm not clear if and when and further work will happen with that code.
Are there folks in the community that would like to have a "standard" Python REST API library to support both Web and Data Science uses of the Tessitura API?
If so do you have an interest in working on such a project?
Has anyone used Pluralsight's Python training ... if so what did you think?

I have not tried PluraIsight's Python training. Have you used this? Or are you considering it?
I have audited Python for Everybody on Courcera. It is a basic Python course. Not specifically designed for Data Science. However, if you are starting from scratch learning Python, or this is the first programming language for you. There is much to be recommended for this course. Once you have made it through this course you will have the basic syntax for Python and can begin looking at using the language for analysis.
Have not tried Pluralsight either, but have done DataCamp which has a heavy data science focus. I noticed that my learning was far more effective if I had relevant projects that I could try and use python to solve problems for once I understood the basics of the language. That way I didn't have to double my learning workload by trying to understand the structure behind the problem you're solving for in the example. Everyone is different, but I hope that helps!
If books are more your style, I highly recommend "Learn Python the Hard Way" and "Automate the Boring Stuff with Python". The latter comes in other formats, such as web material and even a udemy course.
Fast.ai . https://www.fast.ai/ is also a super interesting opportunity to learn AI via Neural Networks.
Is there a group of folks who would like to get together to help encourage one another to learn Python or R for ML and AI? If so let me know.
Count me in. I have plenty of resources to share and a lot to learn!
I definitely would!
I'm considering it ... also for the Java, C# etc it offersoooh - I also see that there is a Python for Data Science and AI on Courcera via IBM
I'd definitely be interested!
I'd be interested.
I'm interested as well.
What specifically are folks interested in doing with the Python Library?
What kinds of projects do you envision?
What sorts of support and help do you need?
What sorts of support and help can you provide to others?
