online subscription offer

We use TNEW, soon to be on v4, and we'd like to set up a promo code offer for online subscriptions of "Buy 3 packages, Get 1 free".  Any tips on how to set this up without customization?  This is our first year with online subscriptions so this is my first time creating an offer for packages.  Can one seat be a comp pricetype?  Can you deduct a bulk amount from the total due at checkout?  This would only be valid for 2 of our 4 packages.  I appreciate any help you can give!

  • Cool idea!  Do you mean buy 3 performances, get 1 free?

I think you would have to have custom work to get that to work on TNEW since it's a "must have this, then get this" kind of an idea.  I'm interested in hearing though if it can be done without custom work!

  • This sounds precisely like pricing rules functionality...which will debut in V12.5.  Presumably 12.5 will have to happen first, and then TNEW will have to be updated to take advantage of it...but I'm not completely familiar with what customizations are available for TNEW (not a client).

  • I do want them to buy 3 seats to a package to get 1 seat in that same package for free.  I thought about discounting all of the package prices so ultimately their total would be that of 3 regular packages but thought that might be confusing for the patron.  I’m also curious if you can force a minimum ticket purchase amount with the offer the way you can limit the maximum number.

  • No, there is no mechanism in Tessitura to manage this kind of requirement at the moment.  But as Gawain mentioned, this kind of thing is what the pricing rules coming in v12.5 are intended to handle.  In the meantime it would be custom web logic, and if you are on TNEW that means you should open a help ticket to see what that would entail.
