Hello, we are re-designing how we sell flex ( build your own packages) on the web. We would like to enable website customers to select different number of seats ( let's say they are buying 5 min required performances and for two of them they want 3 seats, for other performances just 2 seats). We are getting Web API error trying to implement this.
Is this possible ? Workarounds , suggestions?
Thank you ,Sabina
Thank you everyone !

Well, if the purpose of a package is to reward buyers of multiple performances with lower priced tickets, then the new discounting rules will be able to do that fairly easily: allowing you to set up rules that automatically discount tickets when more than X tickets are in the cart, or more than X performances.
We'll have to think about it carefully: we like our reporting on packages vs. single tickets, but we also have essentially tiered flex package options with increasing discounts: lowest discount for 4 or more performances, highest for 8 or more. But you have to choose which performance total you will have as a base before you start selecting performances, so it's not quite as easy for the customer.

Here at UMS, we do exactly the same as Gawain does at Cal Perfs - and we do it within TNEW. We sell fixed and flex subs packages, then you can go back and add the Add-Ons using a specific add-on price type, so we can mesh them with custom package sales reports. We also sell everything unseated for the first half of the sales period, then people can choose their own seats for the packages and add-ons later.
You can check through our TNEW site here to see how we've set it up:
http://tickets.ums.org/single/eventlisting.aspx
http://tickets.ums.org/subscription/packages.aspx
(Choral Union and Chamber Arts packages are fixed - the rest are flex)
The Series:You package used to be the only one where we allowed people to choose varying seat amounts - but with Tessitura and selling online, really any package customer can add on additional single tickets to any series with the Add-On price type in the subs modes of sale.
