Constituent Records Registered Online Have 2 Addresses

Hello.

Has anyone come across a problem where someone who registers an account through a website has an address show up two times in a constituent record?

It seems that the phone number they give doesn't go into the primary address either and therefore the phone number doesn't show up on the header screen or the General part of the Constituent record.

If so, what did you do to stop it?

  • Do you have a prompt where patrons can enter an optional billing address/shipping address in case the two are different? Maybe people are genuinely entering the address twice (even though they don't have to) and omitting the phone from one but not the other? Or maybe they're prompted to enter a phone only for one and not the other, and the one you'd expect to be primary is reversed?

  • We do have an optional 'delivery address' part in the transaction process, and I thought that it would have been the base of the problem too, but I've still not been able to get the phone number to go into the non-primary address.
