  • Jon--

We use a product called Web Performance (http://www.webperformance.com/). It has been extremely useful. It helps us identify bottlenecks, do performance tweaks and we have a pretty accurate number on the max load of various points of our systems. It also has great reporting and scheduled testing, (although we have not used the latter). It's also integrated with Amazon EC2, so you can run the tests outside your network.

It's not cheap, but they have been flexible with their non-profit pricing.  If you can't afford/don't want to buy the tool, they also have a consulting service.

I also used Rational Load Tester ages ago--it was very handy, although I think it is now part of a larger suite and probably extremely pricey.

Let me know if you would like any other specific info.

    Thanks,
    Patrick

  • Hi Patrick,

Thank you very much  for the suggestions. I did give Web Performance a good test, and talked to their support as well.  It is a nice product.   I have been looking into several options this week, even upgrading to VS2010 Ultimate.

I think I am going to go with a product called StressStimulus.  It is an add on to Fiddler.   It seems to work well, support is very good and the pricing options are very good as well.

    Thanks!

    Jon
