Service Charge Displays

For our online order confirmation page as well as our order confirmation emails we would like to have the service charges broken out so the customers can see what they're paying.

Currently, the only way we can break out service charges from the order total is to have them as one lump sum. This can be quite terrifying for a customer purchasing a large number of tickets for a show with higher service charges. It, generally, has not been working in our favor.

Ideally, we would want the service charges spread out a little bit more so the patron can see why the service charge is what it is.

If we could get a format kind of like this it would be cool:

In the line item = Ticket Price $XX | Per Ticket Service Charge $X | Total Ticket Price $XX
Then at the bottom of the order having our $2.00 per order handling fee tacked on.

Has anyone managed to work out a good way to display fees other than the lump sum? How did you do it?

Thanks in advance!

Yes! We split the service fee from the tax fee and the postage fee. The way we do it is with fee categories. So all tax fees have a fee category of “tax,” service fees have a category of “service fees” and so on. This works very well because then the web programmer pulls those categories to split up the amounts.
