Question: File Size on Print-at-Home Tix

Anybody have a solution to getting the Print-at-Home PDF file size down to <200KB? We've tried downsampling images -- even deleting everything and just creating mergeable PDF fields over a blank page -- and the fields alone are 400KB. We're RAMP clients, and they specify we need <150KB ... seems impossible. I'm creating this on a Mac. Appreciate any help!

  • I do a few things that help out with file size.

    1. Always use the SAVE AS function instead of the SAVE.  The SAVE AS function rewrites the pdf as efficiently as possible where as the SAVE function appends changes and makes the file larger.

    2. In the PDF Optimizer you can see where all your space is being used in the AUDIT SPACE USAGE button.  In our ticket designs most of the space is being used by fonts.  Unembed all the fonts that you can in the PDF optimizer.  That usually does the trick for us.

    Hope this is helpful.
