I'm curious to know if anyone has or is planning on implementing Select Your Own Seat on their website that is not dependent in using Flash.
What about SYOS on mobile devices (smartphones) rather then tablets/iPad?
We're looking to completely rework our website as part of our Tessitura implementation and wondering what the (practical) options are.
Any help would be gratefully received - if not paid for with a beer in Orlando!

We also went with SYOS without Flash and use Javascript/Ajax coding instead. Like Jame, we see the major advantage is that JavaScript/AJAX is recognized and understood by major phones (iPhone/iPad, Android).
The only real disadvantage we've thought of so far is that some of the transition/motion effects that are possible in Flash are impossible in JavaScript. We can accomplish a lot, but some things are simply impossible. For example, taking a 3-D view of the Theatre and rotating it and flattening it down to a 2-D seatmap, like Steppenwolf (which is a cool effect, but we weren't going in that direction).
5th Avenue (www.5thavenuetheatre.org) has the same set up/developer as we do and they are currently selling tickets if you want to see an example, we're dark right now.
