.NET CMSes

We're embarking on a website redesign and are looking into integrating a CMS from the start.  I saw some chatter about Drupal, but we're a .NET shop, so that's out.

The consultants we are working with are recommending Sitecore.  Anyone have any experience with that?

Are there any other .NET CMSes that you've used or would recommend (or not recommend)?  We tried Ektron a couple years ago, but the combination of having to rely on POP for so much, plus trying to integrate it over top of an already-built site was a recipe for disaster...

  • We are currently building our new site using Umbraco

    http://umbraco.com/

  • Brian, we have just implemented the first of several of our sites that we are moving to Sitecore. I'd be happy to speak with you.

    Brian,

We just selected Kentico (also .NET based) as our new CMS of choice, and are moving away from Ektron.  I’d also be happy to talk to you, if you’d like.

    Michael

  • Hi Brian,

There is also orchard cms http://orchard.codeplex.com/  it is open source and is using MVC.  Another cms out there is Sitefinity from Telerik http://www.sitefinity.com/ .  A really useful comparision site for CMS resources is the cms matrix  at http://www.cmsmatrix.org/ .

    Jon

  • Is anyone using SharePoint for the CMS?  If so, how easy was it to get the Tessitura API integrated?
