You May Also Like...

We are looking at implementing "You May Also Like..." functionality to personalize recommendations to constittuents based on the interests they have established.  I found this in the document "Tessitura_and_the_Web.doc":

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

6.E.2. Searching Based on Interests

Performances can be suggested to constituents based on interests recorded on their record.  This functionality could be used to create personalized landing pages populated with the performances that  may appeal most to the constituent.

When GetPerformancesEx3 is run after a constituent as logged in, it will include a weight value for each performance in the results.  A weight greater than 0 indicates a match to the constituent’s interests.  This weight can be used to filter or sort the performance results.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In my preliminary testing, it is not returning anything but 0 for the weight.  I know some performance results returned match set interests.

Does anyone have any experience with this, or can recommend a better way?

Thank you.

Paul

  • Hi Paul,

Have you tested this in the application?  When you do a performance search on the Product Catalog tab it will return the same weight value that API should be returning.  If you are not getting weight values in the application then you probably don’t have the interest keywords properly applied to performances.  If it is returning weight values in the application then I suggest opening a help ticket.
