Select-A-Seat

Hi everyone,

We're investigating implementing select-a-seat at Yale, and I'd love to hear from those of you who are offering select-a-seat on your websites.

What technology are you using to render the seat map?

Any other words of wisdom?

Thanks!

  • I've not been given the go ahead to implement SYOS on the web but I did get it to work and have used it internally for other processes and like it very much.

The SYOS application that is provided as part of the API uses Adobe Flash - it is very well done and relatively easy to customize if you have Flash experience. I would not recommend creating something completely from scratch because it really does the job well.

If you really feel like you want to avoid the Flash application, the API does provide methods that will provide coordinates and seat info to draw the seat map yourself using your favorite web programming language. I did that once as well for an internal project - I probably have that code laying around somewhere.

    Good luck!
