Hi there-
Here at the Arvada Center we want to employ the ability in Tessitura to use alpha and numeric values for source/promocodes. If on our website we try to use a word that is tied to the src number in the promocode column of the TR_WEB_SOURCE_NO table we get this message on our website
"If specified code must be numeric"
The folks at POP (company who built our API) suggested I check with the network.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Tina
It sounds like your website was built before promo codes were added to Tessitura. There is an API method that your website needs to use to translate the promo code back into the source code. Here’s the relevant section from the Tessitura and the Web document:
By default, constituents must enter the source code (the ID number of the source) when entering the source. Words or phrases, known as promo codes, can be associated with sources in the TR_WEB_SOURCE_NO table and then used in place of the source code. To reference the link between the promo code and the source added to the TR_WEB_SOURCE_NO table, the website must be coded to use the GetPromoCodeEx Web API method when sources are entered.

We are now on TNEW v4. Where can I find documentation on how to build an alpha source/promo code? I remember that this is possible with TNEW v4+. Thanks
