We are doing a member swap with a local organization next month where their members get Half-Off our ticket price. I have our Walk-Up sale discount set up and it works great.
The problem is I need it online as well. Someone else suggested a promo code. I followed the instructions in the Help System to a T, but when I went into TNEW TEST it didn't work. What did I do wrong in my set-up?
For reference we are still running v15 (15.2.33).
What is going wrong? Is the promo code unrecognized, or is it simply not doing what you expect it to do?
So I can type in the promo code in the little "Promo Code" box at the top of the screen on our checkout page. It will accept it, but the ticket price doesn't change in the cart. When I go to pay and everything, it still doesn't change the price.
How are you intending to change the ticket price? Are you using a mode of sale shift, an offer or a pricing rule?
Ah. I think that is where the disconnect is coming from. I assumed that if I just created a new Source Code it would work. Now I'm realizing I needed the Source Code to trigger a Pricing Rule. I am still not great with pricing rules (we don't use them that often). How do I build that and attach it to the Source Code I created?
When you create a pricing rule, one of the options will be to restrict it to a certain source.
If you use an Offer, you can actually present a discount price type to the user to select instead of needing to update the cart to trigger the rule.
Ok. I think I got it. I just need help with 2 things: Under "Action" what does it mean to "Round to" (I'm assuming it means decimals, but not sure). And the whole "Criteria" section is a bit confusing. Can you help me narrow it down? Is it similar to how I set up a discount where it asks for very specific performances and price types this rule can be used for?
The answers to both should be here:
