N-Scan Tips and tricks

Hi everyone,

I am in the process of researching the best practices for implementing mobile tickets. The biggest problem that I am facing is that my organization performs at three different venues....and one of those being a ticketmaster specific venue.

I am also trying to figure out what is the major difference between having N-Scan and the individual scanners? Would it be recommended to mainly do N-scan for being at multiple places?

Also, what type of data (besides the seat location and such) does it collect?

HELP!

Thank you,

Brittany

  • Hi Brittany -

Tessitura Access Control (previously N-Scan pre-v16) is our solution for access control at facilities that use Tessitura for admission. Access Control is an app that runs on one of the listed compatible scanners (download the doc and see compatible Access Control Devices) and integrates with the Tessitura application via standard Access Control functionality in our API.

If Ticketmaster's access control app (which would be separate from ours) runs on Zebra devices (an Android operating system device), then you probably could run both on the same device so that you have one set of devices for your organization. That's if the facility that sells your tickets on Ticketmaster doesn't already have devices for access control. Most often we've seen some sort of barcode import/export depending on who controls the front of house at the facility. Tessitura has the ability to either export barcodes and send them to Ticketmaster for scanning, or to import external ticketmaster barcodes which will then be recognized by the Tessitura Access Control.

Mobile Tickets are a way of delivering tickets that are sold via Tessitura, and those are able to be scanned by any Tessitura Access Control device using the same barcode information you'd currently see on a printed ticket or Print at Home. Ticketmaster has their own mobile ticket delivery for tickets sold via that platform.

Can you clarify your last question on what data is collected? Are you asking if N-Scan/Access Control collects data or if the Mobile Ticket process collects data?

    Best,

    Heather

  • Hi Heather--so I guess my question is N-Scan collects the data?

  • Tessitura Access Control interacts directly with Tessitura and validates bar codes and then marks them as attended, yes.

Let me know if there's more you were hoping to get answered!

    Best,

    Heather
