V7 - Using Price as a placeholder

As the editable price component is a global field, I'm trying to find language that works across the board.

We can pass the {:MinPrice} as a placeholder in the component editor, but is it possible to pass the price as a placeholder?  If so, what is the correct syntax?

  • Jumping on Dot's coattails to ask if there might be a cheat sheet showing all the tokens/placeholders (like {:MinPrice}) that can be used in various content fields? I seem to recall someone on the documentation team saying this might be in the works, but other than sometimes finding them sprinkled throughout the TNEW documentation, I am not aware of a collected reference or index. That would be super helpful.

  • Hi, Dot (and Christian) -

There is not currently a token/placeholder for "price" in the editable pricing component. The only placeholders available are the ones documented for each specific property, and they are not useable across other properties. So, for example, you couldn't use {:MinPrice} in a description field for an event/item. It can only be used as documented for the Pricing Message property in the Editable Pricing component. There is, however, a placeholder for price available in the Fee Disclaimer property in the Product Editor ({:TicketPriceDisplay}). If you have fees on that ticket, it could display in that field, but it cannot be used in the Pricing Message property in the Editable Pricing component.

For a view of all the placeholders currently available, you could do a Ctrl+F search on this page in the documentation for the characters {: but again, you cannot use them across different property fields.
