Hi everyone,
I am wondering if anyone has had any recent success with using a waiting room with online concerts/livestreams using digital content?
We have our holiday concert coming up VERY SOON on December 18th, and sales are going better than expected! While we are very happy about this, we were not anticipating needing a waiting room for any online concerts. We know that Tessitura recommends using a waiting room for any online concerts anticipating 500+ attendees, and have other helpful recommendations, but I am specifically looking for other organizations that have been successful in implementing this for a concert and not for a ticket on sale.
Our online concerts include a livestream via a Vimeo player imbedded behind the TNEW digital content paywall. All streams happen at 8pm on a Friday, and then on-demand viewing is available following the livestream until midnight on Sunday of that same concert weekend. We do NOT cut off ticket sales at any point, and much of our sales happen the day of and over the weekend for additional on-demand sales. We know we're going to need to re-think restrictions around sale times whether we go with a waiting room or not, but despite tickets selling well we are really not in a position to absorb the additional cost with this concert unless absolutely needed.
If anyone has any experience with this and is willing to share please reply or reach out to me directly at kgent@kwsymphony.on.ca
Thank you!
Kim
