Hey friends! We've been using the new Virtual Experiences feature in TNEW and this is something my marketing department is asking for. When selling these events, we would like to be able to ask the patron how many people will be viewing/attending the video performance. We only require one ticket per household, but are interested in tracking/reporting an estimate of actual viewership. Obviously, accuracy will be rough at best as the patron could under- or over-report and we'd have no way to actually track. But it would still be nice to be able to ask. We would rather not do this as an exit survey or a customization, but I haven't been able to think of an elegant way to add this question to the purchase path. Any ideas?
You can add a survey to each digital performance. Unless you're prepared to do some customization that will involve digging through a lot of CSIs, though.
We just let people select multiple tickets (honor system for paid events) which had at least given us a sense.
Hey Gawain Lavers, I hate to ask for help with this, maybe I should just open a ticket -- but it seems like you know what you're doing with surveys? If you have time, otherwise please feel free to ignore.I have managed to talk my team into trying this as a survey question on the item/event detail page. But we've never done this before and I am having trouble figuring it out from the TNEW documentation. The manual says you can add "additional data" fields to the event/item detail page, but the actual setup in the system tables seems to require an aux item keyword, and we don't want to sell this as an aux item. It's a performance. Surely this can be done on a regular performance?
Something I've never quite understood either but I believe you can only have custom forms on TNEW aux pages
I think this changed in V. 7 and you can add the CSI questions to any item, you just have to put that keyword on the actual performance and it should appear. If you put it on the production season it won't work. We had a health checkbox on our recent event at a baseball stadium that wasn't an AUX event. I just put that keyword on each performance.
Ooh, thank you -- we'll try this!!
Amazing! My mind is blown if that's the case!
1) Are you TNEW 6 or 7?
2) Honestly, I prefer your idea of just letting people choose multiple tickets and comping everything past one. Much easier for the customer, much easier to report on in Tessitura.
3) If you need help with survey setup I can certainly walk you through it.
Def the case, we've used them.
Thanks so much, very kind of you... for the survey thing, I think maybe we've got it figured out now, if it's true that we can put that Aux item keyword on a performance. I'll be testing that with our Tessitura admin on Monday. But to answer your other questions, we are on v7, and I liked the other idea, too, but my team didn't. I'm not sure why.
I recommend creating a different keyword and perhaps a new keyword category for TNEW surveys. It doesn't have to be an "Aux" keyword and you probably don't want it to be a TN_Express_Performance keyword either, as you probably don't want it appearing in your filter list on your event listing/calendar page.
I guess they're volunteering to copy and paste information from CSIs into a spreadsheet or something?
Thanks for this -- I will pass it along! I think maybe he has some SQL script or something that will pull CSIs into a spreadsheet, yes.
It's also possible to have the data be sent to a stored procedure, which can do more complex things with it. It will be a lot more work, though, especially if you want to see it reports or Analytics.
