Hello,
I am wondering if any Tessitura users have any idea how to track $0 conversions in Google Analytics.
We at A.R.T. have offered a few free virtual events over the past few months and we are getting ready to offer some more virtual events with editable pricing (including a $0 minimum). However, as I was trying to determine the effectiveness of our marketing for these free events, I realized that transaction numbers were way off because Google Analytics does not track transactions with $0 in revenue.(From Google Analytics Help: "... transactions with a value of 0 are not reported.")
I am especially concerned that when new events with editable/pay-what-you-can pricing are available, the data in Google Analytics will be insufficient to determine the effectiveness of our marketing.I've searched hard through these and other forums and haven't found anyone else dealing with this problem, or, at least, finding a workable solution.
Has anyone else run into this problem? Have you found a way to handle it?Setting up a Goal to track people who made it to the /receipt URL is a useful proxy, but unfortunately it can't identify the product(s) in the transaction.
I hope this is a useful topic of conversation. Thanks!

Hi David,
It is great to hear that you are planning and offering more virtual events! Are you using our Virtual Experiences with Digital Content in TNEW?
The missing transaction data from the data layer for $0 transactions is actually one of our reported defects in TNEW (https://www.tessituranetwork.com/TNEW_7/TNEW.htm#Topics/Defect_List.htm) We know you need to have access to that information in analytics.
We are planning to release a fix to this defect in an upcoming release of TNEW later this month, but in the meantime, if any other folks have creative interim strategies, it would be great to hear about those as well.
Let me know if you have any other questions, thanks!
Paul
Hi Paul,
I'm excited to see this was fixed in the TNEW 7.38.0 release on October 27.
I'm already seeing the correct data for our sales last week.
Thanks for your help!
