Hello All,
Virtually certain that this would have to be some form of enhancement request for TNEW/Tessitura, but I am curious if anyone else is pondering the idea of two performances sold on the same page for when you have both In Peron and Gated Content Events, especially looking towards the idea of going forward once things return more to "normal". Sort of "linking" two separate performance events in Tessitura.
Example idea: you are selling Event E in Venue V, which has 5 different seating and pricing sections. The patron can buy a physical ticket, attend the performance, just like normal, and yay everyone is happy. But then! You are also offering a digital attendance to this event. That event would be presumably sold in a GA facility for a flat fee. They then virtually "show up" at the performance time (or later if this is to be a saved digital media) and attend in that way. Given that you are offering these two options, though, you might prefer if they both just showed on the same purchase page rather than two pages, one saying "Event E In Person" and the other saying "Event E Virtual Experience". Like "Buy here for in person, or, click below to buy the streaming experience". In order to do such a thing, these two events would likely have to be "linked" in some fashion in Tessitura as joint events. While I am throwing that out there, there are certainly many directions my mind goes in terms of "linked events" vs. "package events". Like even without going digital, you have the pre-sold valet, drink vouchers and a performance which might benefit from "linking". Regarding the digital content aspect, I am not currently aware of how to do that now without building just a separate "Digital Content" zone into your normal performance hall, and that seems to me, while maybe functional, a yet imperfect solution.
My brain puts this stuff into my head, and so I put it out there for you all. Just seeing if anyone else is pondering what I am pondering.
John
Hey John,
We are doign this at MN Opera. You can see the event HERE. I created this under two different production seasons, but we modified the art for the digital content and then I added a JS Alert to fire on the TNEW page for the digital event as well as a Bootstrap Alert to the performance instructions and langugage in LTR_TNEW_DYN_EMAIL_CONTENT so it's really really obvious that this is not a ticket to the live event. ~Greg
Thanks all! Some good stuff here; definitely giving me some ideas!
