TNEW Login Timeout and Gated Content

Hi Gawain - hope you are well!

The TNEW session/log in technically times out after 30 minutes of inactivity. If a user is watching digital content, their experience will not be interrupted after 30 minutes (meaning they should not be ejected from the page or anything) and will be able to continue watching even after those 30 minutes.

If within 30 minutes they do navigate away from the digital content page and/or refresh the page, they will remain logged in and should be able to easily continue watching the event and the session will be extended to 30 minutes expiration.

If, however, they are on the digital content page and after 30 minutes they either navigate away or refresh the page, the page will recognize that they are no longer logged in and user will need to log back in in this case in order to return to watching the event.

Hi Nara,

I have a related question.. sort of.  If access to digital content is for a 24 hour period between 12:00 am and 11:59pm on the same day.  And someone logs in at 11:30pm and starts watching the content.  What happens if they are still logged in and trying to watch it at 11:59pm?  Will they be able to finish watching provided they don't navigate away from the Content page?  Or will access automatically stop at 11:59pm regardless?  

While we are going to give clear direction about how long content is accessible, we are trying to troubleshoot any issues for our night owl friends.

Once on the individual content page, the user should be able to continue watching the event regardless of whether they are still watching after midnight. There isn't any logic on the TNEW page that will eject them from the page at a certain time. But, yes, to your point - if they refresh the page after midnight, they will no longer be able to access the page.
