Going digital: online performances and ticketing

Is anyone offering or planning to offer paid digital subscriptions? We are looking into that as a possible revenue option if we are unable to reopen for the foreseeable future. I'm curious which platforms you use to host the concert and how it integrates with Tessitura. We are a PAC so I'm also interested if any other PACs or presenting houses are looking into this and, if so, how are you planning to navigate artist rights and where the show is performed.

This is completely new to us to any insight is appreciated! Any implementation challenges or "I wish I would have knowns" are also welcome!

following up here to see if you've gotten any feedback or done any more research. If so, I'd be interested to know more about what you have found. Is digital season subscriptions something that you are still considering and researching?

  • Hi Chris, we are still researching and considering as a "worst-case scenario." At this point, we are still in the gathering information phase. We are kind-of in a holding pattern these next couple of weeks to see if things start to reopen around us. I think we've got a good handle on communication and streaming platforms. For us, the biggest hangup is figuring out how to offer online content that we don't own at a cost and the legal implications behind it.

I've also joined a LinkedIn Group by TRG Arts that's offered some good tips and advice but I'm not sure we will be able to offer anything online at a cost unless we rework our artists' contracts to allow it. It's going to be an interesting next couple of months, our season begins late September.

If you think of any ideas or have insight into this, please share!

  • Thanks Staci - What is the name of that Linked In Group? I'd like to join as well. Also I may reach out to talk about streaming platforms if you have some time.

    Chris
