We are about to put our 2020/21 Season on sale - yay! This is our first renewals cycle with TNEW 7, which is mostly great, but I've hit a snag when it come to providing a singular link for both Flex and Fixed renewals. We used to used the page /packages/renewals for subscribers renewing either package type, and just included instructions on the page to choose their rollover below or to click on a button (linked to the Package listing) to purchase/renew a FLEX package. Now that we're on TNEW7, there is error messaging that loads on /packages/renewals saying "No Package can be found" for Flex subs and I would really prefer not send Flex subscribers there and make them think we can't renew their tickets.
For our on-sale email communications, I'm just using dynamic content to link our Flex subs to the Renewals Page and our Fixed subs to our Package Listing, but when it comes to having one link for a "Renew Your Season Tickets" button on our Marketing website, I'm not sure where to send them...
Anyone have any good workaround for this??
/packages should direct you to a listing of all packages.
I created an html button that links to the renewal page and entered it into TN_Express_Sub_Short_Desc on the package content for the fixed packages (I labeled it "Renew Here"). By using the short_desc field for this, it appears in the /packages page so when we link subscribers to that listing of all packages, the fixed ones have a button right there for renewals. (None of our packages are on sale right now so I'm sorry I don't have a screen shot to share)
Oh that's clever! Thank you - I'll give that a shot!
Anna, thanks again! This worked like a charm! Here's a screenshot of what ours looks like now if anyone else in the forums has the same issue.
Awesome!!!
Lily -
It might be too late for this year, but we typically don't want to have our flex packages on sale right away for new subscribers, so I added a link on the renewal page (/packages/renewals) that would direct flex subs to a keyword page to renew their series. But the solution above is also great!
Kari, that's great! We decided to go ahead and put our Season Packages on sales to the public (new buyers just don't get seated until after current subscribers have had a few months to renew), but if we go back to a Current Sub Renewal period, I will definitely remember this!
Thanks!
