Hello,
We recently began receiving calls and chats from people that have used Guest Checkout but then tried to access their tickets via our mobile app. In two cases when the patron went to register an account (creating a dupe) the ticket order wasn't on the account. We know it is because they created a new account but to them it's all the same. Has anyone had this issue? We generally look over these new accounts every few days to schedule and complete merges but if they are faster at trying to access their tickets there is confusion. I added text to the Guest Checkout instructions saying Mobile App tickets aren't available for Guest Checkout but when you get to the delivery option portion you see Mobile App as an option. I know we can do dynamic delivery methods based on products but is there something I am missing that would allow it to be hidden for Guest Checkout account? We are on v7 and 15.1.
Thanks
Michael
Hello Michael - Ragan Rhodes here with the support team. I am going to get a ticket started on your behalf because I am following up with my developers on this. I definitely agree adding the note will be helpful in the meantime while I get more information for you.
Thank you Ragan.
In case anyone is interested here is the line I added. I am not a wordsmith so be kind.
Please note: Mobile App ticketing is not available with Guest checkout. If you wish to use our mobile app to access your tickets please create an account linked to your email.
Mike
Guest Checkout has been a big deal for us: we've really seen improvements in cart completion associated even with the a brief trial of the mostly unworkable v6 version, but we have had issues with things like interactions with pre-cart customizations. It adds another, disparate "state" into the mix of custom sessions that one would like to address with restrictions on this or that other part of the process.
I don't have any brilliant answers on how it should work, I'm afraid, but this is certainly one more thing for us to think about as we look at web tickets.
We are looking again to re-introduce a guest checkout functionality to TNEW version 7. We discontinued PAHT a year ago and offer Mobile tickets via app and will be offering E-tickets via a link in an order confirmation. Both of these delivery methods require an account to gain access to a ticket. We need a mechanism to exclude these delivery methods as options for guest checkout. We are interested to learn if there is anything in the development pipeline to address this?
Thanks, Sabina
