Offers on the web

Is it possible to have an offer to a performance where no other price type for that performance is available? Such as a pre-sell. We just tried it and in the getPerfromanceDetails call, the <pricetype> table disappeared and we use that table.

  • If you are using the Offers functionality, your web site would need to use the GetPerformanceDetailWithDiscounting method (actually, GetPerformanceDetailWithDiscountingEx is the most current iteration of this method).  If the customer is logged in with the appropriate offer source code, the offer price should be returned in the PriceType set with a Promo flag of ‘Y’ indicating that it is an offer.  One other thing to mention here, likely, the offer price is not set as the default for the web MOS, so no Price set(s) will not be returned by the method.  Depending on how your web site is coded, this may or may not be something you have to factor in.

  • I should clarify that no Price set(s) would be returned in this situation if there is no default price for the MOS, or there is one but it is not valid under the circumstances.
