Given the issues inherent in maintaining both a web-subscribed WordFly email list and the lists we pull from Tessitura to use in WordFly, campaigns, we've decided to explore using the "Create Account Brief" page in TNEW as our email list sign-up page. Is anyone else here doing that, and can you share any tips?
Some of the concerns we have with this process:
We can deal with or work around the above issues, but then there's this one:
I'm not sure what to tell people who register using Create Account Brief how to log in later for ticket purchases. Since they will not have created a password, they can't just log in. But since they do have an account, trying to create a new one with the same email causes an error. It seems the only option is to give them a link to reset their password. No matter what, it's not the smoothest customer experience.
Has anyone found a way around this, or solved any other issues with using this account creation option for email sign-up?
Hi Christian, I'm also exploring the double opt-in -- did you have a workaround for that?
Hi Karen! Unfortunately, no, I haven't found a workaround for that, as there just is no mechanism in TNEW to facilitate a double opt-in. We are choosing to live without it, but I'm making sure there is clear language in the email confirmation that they can contact us if they didn't mean to sign up. That, with the redirect URL option discussed above in this thread, was good enough for us. Good luck to you!
